Now this record is not just down to my instructing skills, but also the fact that my learner drivers trust and take my advice/recommendations on when/where to book their driving test, and any progress reports I give them. Now before you start to think that it is all about squeezing the maximum number of driving lessons from them, a lot of the times, the things I ask them to do actually saves them taking additional lessons, simple things like watching a driving lesson video about the apex corner multi-lane roundabout until the information sticks in their mind, taking 1 2hr session a week rather than 2 1hrs because of the way the individual learns, keeping a driving journal so they can go over simple principles taught, etc.
Most of my driving lesson clients come either via recommendation or from those who have visited this website and found the videos or information useful, so even if someone needs a couple more extra lessons and I do let them know if this is not necessary, most do take these to increase their chances of passing.
I'm not saying that if you follow all my advice you are guaranteed to pass your driving test, if you know someone who offers this guarantee by all means go for it (any true and honest instructor knows this is not possible), I'm saying you will have the best preparation, the required confidence and experience demanded by the DSA examiner.
For those of you not living or working in the North West London area, there is plenty of advice and videos on this website that you can use to supplement your lessons or private practice and help you to be a better prepared candidate for the DSA test.
One thing I always advice my learners is that you can never be overprepared for the test, so there is no harm in reading your highway code or theory test books, at worst you are only reminding yourself of what you already know, at best you might gain something that might save you from failing the driving test and achieve that first time pass you are looking for.
DSA Examiner Driving Test Routes
As an instructor over the years I have seen some very good drivers get tripped up at some tricky places on some of the routes by examiners in the NW London area, so I have made these tutorial videos to cover these situations. Each video covers what I have found out to the toughest route, and has additional tips on other places or things that you should be aware as a driving test candidate. These are offered as complimentary preparation materials to your lessons or private practice sessions.
