DVSA driving examiner complaints

I get many emails and queries to this driving school blog seeking information on how to complain about driving examiners, so I thought it was time to address this issue in a post, so you are aware of what to do if not happy with the service you got from the DSA examiner.

First of all let me tell you that no matter the circumstances and the evidence you are able to produce, the DSA will never change the outcome or result of a driving test, the best you can expect is a free re-test.

Secondly you need to realise that you are not likely to succeed in a complaint against a driving examiner just because you failed and think the examiner did something wrong like his/her not talking to you made you nervous and not at ease.



Thirdly if you have a complaint about the conduct of the driving test, you are more likely to be upheld if you have an independent witness such as your instructor being able to back you up which would only be possible if you allowed them to sit in on the test. Please do report any cases of sexual harasment but these are almost non existent nowadays with examiners.

Now if you think you have a genuine complaint about how the driving test was conducted or the examiner, then you should either write to the manager of the local test centre, the address is on your driving test appointment letter, or contact the DSA customer services by email so you can have a record of all your correspondence.

Finally remember that the best you can get from any driving examiner complaints is a re-test propably with the supervising examiner.
